As a Senior Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for applying your environmental knowledge and project management skills to help communities in the State of Oregon recover from the disastrous wildfires of 2020. In this role, you will lead and participate in meetings with up to 30 participants from agencies, contractors and partners to collaborate on the next steps in the recovery process; prepare environmental scopes of work and review reports on environmental data (e.g., asbestos, soil data and air monitoring); and support and coordinate field staff in remote locations in Oregon both from your office and on site. To thrive in this role you must have the following:

  • Experience managing complex environmental assessment, field collection and reporting efforts.
  • Comfort and success in facilitating both collaborative and challenging multiparty and multi-agency meetings.
  • Experience scoping, scheduling and budgeting large-scale field efforts (+$100,000).
  • Experience expediting a project and motivating a project team and field crew up to 40 people, on several large sites simultaneously.
  • Experience reviewing and writing multiple environmental reports to meet tight regulatory and client deadlines.
  • Knowledge and application of Oregon cleanup regulations to environmental projects.
  • HAZWOPER certification.
  • Experience supporting field crews complying with health and safety requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites up to 30% of time.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including, but not limited to, lifting, use of respiratory equipment and other protective gear, and traversing rough terrain.
